1. Eligibility

The competition is open to South African residents aged 18 years or older.

2. One entry per person

Only one entry per person is permitted. Multiple entries submitted by the same person will be disqualified, and only the first valid entry received will be considered.

3. Original recipe

The submitted recipe must be an original recipe or original adaptation created by the entrant and must feature seafood as a central ingredient. Entrants may not submit another person's recipe, or a recipe copied from another source, and represent it as their own.

4. Suitable for a braai

The recipe must be suitable for preparation on a braai, grill or braai-side cooking equipment.

5. Complete recipe

Entries must include a recipe title, seafood used, ingredients and quantities, preparation and cooking method, and a short personal explanation.

6. Original photograph or video

Each entry must include at least one original photograph or short video of the finished dish. Media must be the entrant's own and accurately represent the submitted recipe.

7. No stock or AI-generated images

AI-generated images, stock photographs or images belonging to another person may not be submitted as the entrant's own work.

8. Use of AI tools

AI tools may be used for minor assistance such as spelling, grammar or formatting. The core recipe, concept and creative idea must come from the entrant. Wholly AI-generated recipes are not eligible.

9. Personal story

Entrants must provide a 50-100 word personal explanation of what makes the recipe special or why they chose to submit it.

10. Judging - First Prize and Runner-up

The judging panel will consider creativity and originality (25%), braai suitability (20%), taste/ingredient appeal (20%), presentation/photo (15%), and personal story/authenticity (20%).

11. People's Choice

People's Choice is separate from judging. Once entries have closed, all eligible recipes that have been checked will be published together when voting opens - never individually as they are approved.

Voting opens at 07:30 on 24 September 2026 and closes at 23:59 on 29 September 2026. The eligible recipe receiving the highest number of valid votes wins a R2,000 Breco Seafoods hamper. One person, one vote applies. Duplicate, fraudulent, automated or otherwise invalid votes may be rejected.

12. People's Choice and other prizes

The People's Choice winner may also receive First Prize or Runner-up if selected by the judges.

13. Disqualification

Atlantis Seafood Distributors (Pty) Ltd may disqualify entries that are copied, misleading, use unauthorised images, are wholly AI-generated, fail the requirements, or breach these rules or the full Terms & Conditions.

14. Verification and originality checks

Recipes may be checked for originality. Entrants may be asked for additional information about their recipe, ingredients or cooking process.

15. Publication and use of entries

By entering, participants give Atlantis Seafood Distributors (Pty) Ltd permission to use, reproduce, edit, publish and share their submitted recipe, photographs and/or videos for marketing, editorial and promotional purposes across digital and social channels and future recipe collections, without further payment.

16. Editorial changes

Atlantis Seafood Distributors (Pty) Ltd may make minor editorial changes to formatting, spelling, grammar, measurements and layout without changing the substance of a recipe.

17. Judging decision

The judges' decision regarding First Prize and Runner-up is final and no correspondence will be entered into regarding the judging process.

18. People's Choice voting

The highest number of valid public votes determines the winner. In a tie, the judging panel will select the winner and its decision is final.

19. Winner verification

Winners will be contacted using their entry details and may be asked for proof of identity and residency before a prize is awarded.

20. Competition closing date

Entries close at 23:59 on 23 September 2026. Late entries will not be accepted.

21. Voting closing date

People's Choice voting closes at 23:59 on 29 September 2026. Votes received after closing will not be counted.
